Problem Note 46470: "Invalid argument" exception might appear when attempting to connect to the SAS® server using the SAS® Add-in for Microsoft Office

When connecting to the SAS server using the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office, you might see an error similar to the following.
System.ArgumentException: Invalid argument. at MSForms.Controls.Add(String bstrProgID, Object Name, Object Visible) at SAS.OfficeAddin.VbaAddin._CreateRefEditForm(String fontName, Decimal fontsize) at SAS.OfficeAddin.VbaAddin._InitVBProject() at SAS.OfficeAddin.VbaAddin._CreateInstance() at SAS.OfficeAddin.VbaAddin.get_CanAccessVBProject() at SAS.OfficeAddin.DataChooseWindow..ctor(DialogTypeToDisplay dialogType) at SAS.OfficeAddin.ExcelAddin.ViewSasDataSource() at SAS.OfficeAddin.RibbonManager.OnButtonClick(IRibbonControl control)
Actions that require a connection to the SAS server include opening SAS data, opening a task, and opening the Options dialog box.
To circumvent this issue, you can deselect Trust access to the VB Project in the Excel options. This option can be found by navigating to Excel Options ► Trust Center ► Trust Center Settings ► Macro Settings.
